We are an active hiking group and usually hike in the Odenwald, along the Bergstraße, in the Palatinate Forest, in the Black Forest, and in the Kraichgau. Our members are mostly from the Rhein-Neckar area or directly from Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. While we enjoy being outdoors and appreciate the benefits of hiking, having time for a coffee (and cake!) at the end is important to us, too.
If you would like to join us, please go to Will Hike for Cake on Groups Place. You will see short descriptions of upcoming and completed events. If you want to sign up for an event, create your profile and then request to join the group. Once you are a member, you have access to more information and you also can see all event details.
About our hiking group
We started in 2016 on Meetup as “Heidelberg Hiking & Geocaching” and moved to Groups Place at the end of 2017. In the meantime, we have had over 100 events.
Our members are approximately 30 – 55 years old. Several people are from different countries all over the world. Even most Germans in our group have lived abroad for a while, e.g. in Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Canada.
Although English is the communication language on our website so that we reach more people, during our events it often turns out that everyone speaks fluent German.
